This week I've spent a lot of time preparing for the upcoming Farmer's Market
where I had rented out the community booth for June 10th.
Even in amongst all my crafty time, I still managed to walk the required time for this week.
My target was 26 km, and I completed 27.13 km.
Sun, June 3 - 0 km
Mon, June 4 - 4.33 km
Tues, June 5 - 5 km
Wed, June 6 - 5.82 km
Thurs, June 7 - 6.08 km
Fri, June 8- 0 km
Sat, June 9 - 5.90 km
Thursday evening, with the hint of rain in the air, mom and I put on our adventure pants and drove out to Scheel drive to start Part 4 to McLean. Mom was so incredibly smart with wearing full length pants. I decided to wear 3/4 length and my legs were a buffet for the flies! Mosquitos! Black Flies! Deer Flies! We walked as fast as we could in order to speed up past getting hit by fly bites. This section crosses over 2 other roads before getting to McLean, and the first part looked like it's used by some horse owners. We were hoping to see a horse but, unfortunately not that night. Just Horse Flies :P
We felt so accomplished. Mom spurred me on. I wanted to quit so many different times because of the lack of bug spray, but she urged me to continue. I have quite a number of bites on my legs, but in the grand scheme of things, it's not so bad.
I decided to walk down Division and wind my way through the grove 'til I hit half of what I wanted to accomplish, then I turned on the spot and re-traced my steps back home. I love the Grove. To this day, I still enjoy having this wooded area with paths so near to my front door.
