Even though I didn't get out for any substantial lengthy distance hikes this week, I am happy that I got out every day for small walks. I also feel like this past week has been one of my most successful on this journey. The ONE aspect of my life change that I had been struggling with; Diet and Proportions, … I've actually stuck with eating better. I can't tell you what made me smarten up and gain some self control this week. Maybe it was just telling myself I was 'tired of living this way', but something clicked this week that never has before. I was tested - oh boy, was I tested. From social gatherings to eating out - I still managed to keep my eating in check by tracking it all with an app called Loseit! and I didn't lie - I stayed accountable and honest. Since posting my 'before' photo on August 16th - I have lost 5 pounds!!! That's the weight of my dog Sneakers! the past 1.5 weeks of focusing on my diet and working on some core exercises, I am finally seeing some change.
What is even more important is that my blood glucose levels have been in the green zone!
I was hungry. I had planned my day for the popcorn in the evening. So, we stopped into Lumbertown and I got my favourite salad in all of Arnprior. My bestie was there and joined us for a chit chat and bite to eat. It was a nice night.
Thursday, August 30: This evening mom and I walked to the O'Brien again, and finally got to watch the movie we wanted to. Unfortunately, I wasn't a super duper big fan of the movie, but it was still entertaining, and I treated myself to the popcorn (no butter).
Friday, August 31: This Evening my food and drink consumption was tested. I attended a birthday party for a friend and all the food was so delicious that I risked over eating, but I didn't! I also decided to bring a couple bottles of carbonated water in lieu of drinking alcohol. I had a sip or two when we toasted my friend for her birthday, but I didn't finish it.
Sunday, September 2: A resting day in all senses of the word. I cooked a healthy chicken pho, and watched a couple movies with Matt. I then walked the movies back and enjoyed the sunset. It's been a humid weekend - and this week I plan on walking more now that I feel I have a handle on my food and meal planning. From now until my trip, I have to plan a hike varying in different times. I also am looking to purchase more items required for my hike. It isn't that far away now...
